PE-5-My webtool myheritage.com work in progress.

Well here goes the posting on Faceook of my Family Genealogy idea, asking for people in my family to participate. I have even opened the idea up to spouses, and will have to revise invites as I think of them.

Now, off to work on getting this set up for my family, before my phone rings off the hook on Sunday, asking what the heck I am doing by starting something that does not readily work.

Here is proof that I am underway with this project...

BP4: 2nd Webtool Review

BP4 [link to Cynthia Madanski's blog with my comments]

http://cynthiamadanski-affectingeternity.blogspot.com/2011/10/bp3stick-pick.html?showComment=1318828106724#c7381637263452491442

I found Ctynthia's post about using an app to take the place of Stick Pick to be my cup of tea, because I have had many successes and failures after picking and buying or choosing from free, the countless pieces of software available out for my son’s homework, that he completes on his Ipad.

The idea that kids in class do not want to respond to questions is true for any subject. Because, as I recall from when I substitute taught a Social Studies classroom, on a 30 day assignment, children and especially those with behavior problems find any excuse not to participate in class, or do their homework.

With the lack of parental involvement/encouragement in the education of their child lacking in many schools, this tool encourages students to answer based on where they are on the various levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy.

PE3 Movie-

I will have to reserve this spot for what will be an image my lynda.com certificate of compeletion for I-movie-11.

Since that has not happened yet, there is no need to lie about it, and just a need to get it done..

However in keeping with the rule of having a graphic image in every blogpost, here is a cute last winter picture, that should keep you, the reader entertained until I finish the lynda.com I-movie training.

I also  became aware of the need to use lynda.com and find the time to use it faithfully, as well as how easy the online narrator for that service explains software packages, like I-movie that are on there.

I really did not count on having to spend that much time using lynda.com, but now see the error of my ways, and just how needed this time is and to make matters worse I became ill after eating some seasoned meat at a local eatery, that must have had garlic in it, and made very ill because I am allergic to garlic, in ways that are too graphic for me to go over in this blog.

By clicking on this link, it will take you to my 1st week i-movie version of my attempt to educate everyone about legendary folk artist, Howard Finster's Paradise Garden's, and the need for outside intervention by anyone who can help, including schools, universities and philanthropic foundations that fund charitable causes.  If you are wondering is this the same Howard Finster who painted the album cover of the now defunct band R.E.M. , then you are correct in saying that he is just that..and more as this video shows, concerning a man, a mission from God, and his art dedicated to his Lord Jesus. To read more on line for free about this man...click on the following link: http://www.finstersparadisegardens.org/

Lynda.com tutorials I did not complete yet, due to illness, but I already have a copy the book Apple Training Series book for I-Life 11, and that helped somewhat along with a review of some of the clips about using I-movie from Lynda.com.

I learned that You-tube will only take movies that are 15 minutes or less in length, and how to create audio background tracks in I-Movie including narrator Voice-Overs for the video clip being worked up currently.

BP#3:Quixey.com.

1.     Choose one of the tools that will work for you in your professional environment.
a)    http://www.quixey.com/

2.     Use the tool, watch tutorials, and create a product so you understand the tools features and usability. Document your process.

From the above page link then go to:

For a school skills app for I-Pad 2 I plan to research and buy for my son, as funds are available, in order to meet one of the objectives stated in my Content Based Research Project.

Based on:

This may not work for my son because it has no graphic pictures, to hold his attention.

The School Social skills the software app deals with do not address his interpersonal Social Skill deficit, in or out of school.

However the following reference page, for this app may work:

I will continue to look at and evaluate if the apps listed are relevant and also age appropriate. Not all apps for the purpose of teaching social skills to autistic children are not relevantly for very high functioning autistic kids, and this Web 2.0 app/search engine for all apps, lists all the known social skills apps that there are currently.

BP#2: iGoogle PLE

Previously, I have not fully used this webpage as a Personal Learning Environment/P.L.E., and have used campus email more than this personalized Google page. However, I can see how it will benefit me to use this page and in the future.

There are and will hopefully be more planned additions to all these tabs on Sunday, after going to church, at Connect Rome City Church,  and Monday, which by the way you are more than welcome to listen to the Podcast of their Pastor, Josh Roberts @ the following website: www.connectrome.com, as well as donate any funds you see fit for the betterment of my townsfolk, if you feel so lead to do so.

F.Y.I. I will be in Atlanta, Ga. taking care of my son's educational needs at the Marcus Autism Center off Ponce Street, so send me an email or a post, if anyone needs me Monday evening, Tuesday- all day, and Wednesday-all day-( and yes! I am going to bed promptly,Wednesday night, after going head to head with Big City traffic, being used to small town traffic.)
